The Atabeg Gâzi Madrasa

The madrasa where Ahmed Efendi was müderris is the Atabey (Atabekiye) Madrasa, which the emir of Amasya Nâsırüddin Ahmed had built in 1322, in the Ilkhanid period, with five rooms, a lecture hall, and a garden. In some studies it is recorded that the line of Yörgüç Pasha, one of Amasya's great benefactors, is also traced back to this Atabeg Nâsırüddin Ahmed. The Atabey Madrasa was a long-lived institution; a study on the müderrises of Amasya counts it among the madrasas that continued to give instruction in Amasya in the twentieth century.

His Son Sıdkı Mustafa Pasha

The real importance of the entry is that Ahmed Efendi was the father of Sıdkı Mustafa Pasha, one of the well-known statesmen of the seventeenth century. In later volumes of his work Hüsameddin devotes a long entry to Sıdkı Mustafa Pasha and there introduces his father as "Ahmed Efendi of Amasya, from the Fethiye quarter and the class of judges, son of Mustafa Efendi, judge of Amasya." According to the same entry, Sıdkı Mustafa learned learning, manners, and fine writing beside his paternal uncle Küçük Mehmed Ali Efendi; after teaching for a while he moved to the chancery career as divan clerk of Hâce Ahmed Pasha of Amasya. In 1047 he became reisülküttap and was brought to this post four times; in 1057 and 1065 he became nişancı twice, then governor of Timişvar, and in 1066 received the vizierate. He died in Muharram 1073. Hüsameddin also writes, relying on the sharia court registers, that he repaired the Fethiye Mosque in the quarter where he was born and had a school built beside it. The Mehmed Efendi counted among his brothers in this entry is probably the same person as the "Küçük Mehmed Ali Efendi" who raised Sıdkı Mustafa Pasha; however, no record stating this openly was seen.

No information was found in other sources on his teacher Şeyhzâde Veliyyüddîn Efendi.
