Sâbık mîrlivâdır. Zûr-ı bâzûsuyla gelip 1015 senesi saferinin yirmi birinci günü Amasya sancağı beyi olduğunu i'lân ve bir kıt'a fermân ibrâz etdi. Amasya erkânı âkıbet-i hâle intizâren inkıyâda mecbûr oldu.
On gün sonra ya'nî rebî'ulevvelinin ikinci günü taraf-ı pâdişâhîden me'mûren bostancıbaşı Hızır Ağa Amasya'ya geldi. Zât-ı şâhânenin Îrân harbine gideceğini ve Amasya'ya geleceğini i'lân ederek Amasya sarâyını ta'mîre ibtidâr etdi.
Birkaç gün sonra da otuz beşinci bölükde mukayyed sipâhî meşâhîrinden Şeytânoğlu İbrâhim Ağa Amasya kethüdâyeri ve iki yüz seksen birinci bölükde mukayyed sipâhî müteneffizânından Murâd Çavuşoğlu Alî Ağa Kedağra [369] (Köprü), Havza ve Merzifon sipâhîlerine kethüdâ olup geldi.
Amasya alaybeyisi Seydî Beyzâde Alî Bey, meşâhîr-i zu'amâdan ve yiğitlerdendi. Bunlar, İbrâhim Bey'in gözünü oldukça korkutacak adamlardı. Hızır Ağa'nın vürûdu ve Sultân Ahmed'in azîmeti haberi İbrâhim Bey'i fenâ sarsdı.
İbrâhim Bey, derhâl tertîb ve takdîm etdiği ağır hediyelerle Hızır Ağa'ya yanaşıp kendisinin sâdık bir devlet bendesi olduğunu arz ederek Hızır Ağa'nın teveccühâtını kazandı. Bu esnâda Sivas vâlîliğine Ahmed Paşa ta'yîn edilmişdi.
Bostancıbaşı Hızır Ağa, aldığı emir üzerine rebî'ulevvelin sonlarında İstanbul'a gitdi. İbrâhim Bey, Amasya sancağında mevki'ini te'mîn etdikden sonra eski hâline avdet ederek zulüm ve ceberûtunu artırdı.
1015 senesi cumadelûlâsında İbrâhim Bey, gûyâ Sivas beylerbeyi olduğunu iddi'â ederek sâhte bir fermân gösterdi. Sivas'a gideceğinden bahisle mütesellim ta'yîn etdiği kethüdâsı Bacı Süleyman Ağa'yı Sivas'a gönderdi.
Ahmed Paşa, derhâl sûret-i hâli bâb-ı âlîye yazdı. 11 cumadelâhire târîhinde aldığı fermân-ı âlîde bunun asıl ve esâsı olmadığı ve İbrâhim Bey'in azliyle yerine Amasya alaybeyisi Alî Bey'in ta'yîn edildiği bildirildi. [370]
In Modern English
He is the former sanjak governor. Coming by force of arm, on the twenty-first day of Safar 1015 [1606-07] he announced that he was sanjak governor of Amasya and showed a decree. The notables of Amasya had to submit, waiting for the outcome of the affair.
Ten days later, that is on the second day of Rabi' al-awwal, the bostancıbaşı Hızır Ağa, commissioned by the sultan, came to Amasya. Announcing that the sultan would go to the Iranian war and would stop at Amasya, he set about repairing the palace of Amasya.
A few days later Şeytânoğlu İbrâhim Ağa, one of the famous sipahis enrolled in the thirty-fifth company, came as kethüdâyeri of Amasya, and Murâd Çavuşoğlu Alî Ağa, one of the notable sipahis enrolled in the two hundred and eighty-first company, came as kethüdâ to the sipahis of Kedağra (Köprü), Havza and Merzifon.
The alaybeyi of Amasya, Seydî Beyzâde Alî Bey, was among the famous zeamet holders and brave men. These were men who could frighten İbrâhim Bey considerably. Hızır Ağa's arrival and the news that Sultan Ahmed would set out badly shook İbrâhim Bey.
İbrâhim Bey at once approached Hızır Ağa with valuable gifts he had prepared and won Hızır Ağa's heart by declaring that he was a loyal servant of the state. At this time Ahmed Pasha had been appointed to the governorship of Sivas.
The bostancıbaşı Hızır Ağa went to Istanbul at the end of Rabi' al-awwal on an order he received. After consolidating his position in the sanjak of Amasya, İbrâhim Bey returned to his former ways and increased his cruelty and pressure.
In Jumada al-awwal 1015 İbrâhim Bey, claiming that he was supposedly beylerbeyi of Sivas, showed a forged decree. Using as a pretext that he would go to Sivas, he sent there his steward Bacı Süleyman Ağa, whom he had appointed mütesellim.
Ahmed Pasha wrote of the situation at once to the Sublime Porte. In the exalted decree he received on 11 Jumada al-akhira, it was announced that this had no basis or origin, that İbrâhim Bey had been dismissed, and that the alaybeyi of Amasya, Alî Bey, had been appointed in his place.

The Forged Decree and the Beylerbeyilik of Sivas
Yıldızlı İbrâhim's showing a forged decree claiming that he was beylerbeyi of Sivas results, in Hüsameddin's account, in the reaction of the Sublime Porte. Mustafa Akdağ, however, listing the posts given to the Celâlî chieftains, notes that Yıldızlı İbrâhim appears to have been appointed to the beylerbeyilik of Rum (Sivas). This difference between the two accounts could not be resolved, because the document Akdağ relies on could not be examined here.
The News of the Sultan's Coming
That the bostancıbaşı in the text came to Amasya with the news that the sultan would set out on the Iranian campaign and come to the city shows that the center wished to bring the situation in the region under control. In the sources we read, no record was found of Sultan Ahmed's coming to Amasya at this time. According to the TDV entry on Kuyucu Murad Pasha, it was Ahmed I who pressed the Iranian campaign, while Murad Pasha preferred to eliminate the rebels in Anatolia first. Which building the palace of Amasya was is also not stated in the sources.
Company Numbers
The text states that the sipahis were enrolled in the "thirty-fifth" or "two hundred and eighty-first" company. According to Akdağ, the men of the Celâlî chieftains, if they did not become sanjak governors, were enrolled in one of the kapıkulu companies such as the sipah and silahtar companies, and thereby obtained a stipend and the possibility of advancement.
