The Surroundings of the Bâlî Bey Mosque

In a study of the lodges of Amasya, the quarter around the Bâlî Bey Mosque is given as the Pervâne Bey Quarter; the Darbhâneci Lodge stood to the east of this mosque, and today this area lies within the Dere Quarter. The present-day equivalent of the "Acem Ali Quarter" named in the text could not be learned from the sources. No record beyond what is given in this entry could be found for the imam Hâfız Ahmed Efendi or for Hacı Mahmud Efendi; the death dates of both men (around 1086, early 1087) are known only from Hüsameddin.
