Amasya’da Hızır Paşa müderrisi iken vefât eden Veliyüddîn Efendi’nin oğludur. Bi’t-tahsîl ders-i âm ve Şamîce Mahallesi’nde Çorakçızâde Hacı Halîl Paşa Câmii Hatîbi, Pîr İlyas türbedârı olup, 1204 zilka’desinde vefât etdi. Sulehâ-yı ulemâdandı. Mahdûmu es-Seyyid Abdurrahman Efendi hatîb ve türbedâr oldu. Amcası mevâlîden Abdülkerîm Efendi’dir.

He is the son of Veliyüddîn Efendi, who died while müderris (madrasa professor) of the Hızır Pasha Madrasa in Amasya. After completing his studies he gave public lectures; he became preacher of the Çorakçızâde Hacı Halîl Pasha Mosque in the Şamîce quarter and keeper of the tomb of Pîr İlyas, and died in Zilkade 1204 [1790]. He was one of the pious scholars. His son Seyyid Abdurrahman Efendi also became preacher and tomb keeper. His uncle is Abdülkerîm Efendi, one of the mevâlî (scholars of kadı rank).
