In Modern English
He was from Amasya. He is the son of Bakkaloğlu Mustafa Ağa, serdar of Amasya. He was one of the Janissaries of Amasya; during the aghaship of the Janissary ağa Hüseyin Pasha of Amasya he went to Istanbul in 1161 [1748-49] and entered the corps. His entry, "Ahmed, Mustafa, Amasya," was found written in the register of the corps.
Rising step by step, through the efforts of Hacı Kadirzâde Hüseyin Ağa of Amasya, who became çorbacı in 1179 [1765-66] and kethüda of the rikâb-ı hümâyûn (the sultan's retinue) in 1183 [1769-70], he first became kethüdâyeri, then muhzır ağası, zağarcıbaşı in 1184 [1770-71], and kul kethüdası in 1185 [1771-72].
Because he did not get along with the Janissary ağa Kuyucu Süleyman Pasha, he was dismissed and retired in early 1186 [1772-73]. When peace was made in 1188 [1774-75], he became kethüda of the Yaş gate; in the Janissary register of 1189 [1775-76] the entry "Ahmed Mustafa Amasya" was found, and above it was written "Esirci, Hacı Ahmed Ağa, kethüda of the Yaş gate." He died in early 1204 [1789-90]. His son is the former grand vizier Çelebi Mustafa Pasha.
