Prince Ahmed's Struggle for the Throne

Prince Ahmed, to whom Alagöz Bey was attached, is the son of II. Bayezid and was sanjak governor of Amasya from 12 March 1481 until April 1512. Not accepting the sultanate of his brother Selim, he rebelled. He marched from Amasya with a force of about thirty thousand, was defeated at Yenişehir on 24 April 1513, and was captured and killed by strangulation.

Hüsameddin says "in 918, together with his master"; the Hijri year 918 corresponds to 1512-13, and this fits the period between Selim's accession and the defeat at Yenişehir. No record was found other than Hüsameddin on when and how Alagöz Bey was killed. In studies dealing with the period when the princes were in Amasya, the administrative structure of the city in those years is treated separately.
