The Name Temennâ
Several records bearing the name Temennâ are known in Amasya: a Temennâ Mosque (mescid) dated 1562 is listed among the sixteenth-century mosques, and a fountain is recorded as built in 1467 in the Temennâ Quarter by Hacı Hüsameddin Ağa son of Abdüssamed, a freedman of Hızır Pasha. Whether there is a link between the founder of the Hüsâmeddîn Temennâyî Foundation and the Hacı Hüsameddin Ağa who built this fountain is not established in the sources read; only the shared name can be noted.
Family Ties
The text shows that the trusteeship passed here through the female line: İsmâil Ağa descends from the founder of the foundation through his mother. The Geyiklioğlu family is presented as one of the sipahi class. In the searches made for his son Mehmed Said Ağa and his grandson Vizier İsmâil Hakkı Pasha, no record was found that confirms or contradicts Hüsameddin's information. No information was found either on Geyikli Hasan Ağa, on Rabia Hatun, or on the founding and the list of trustees of the Hüsâmeddîn Temennâyî Foundation.
