He worked to call the people of the villages to the right path and to improve their morals.

His lodge was open to those coming and going. He was regarded as the qutb of the district of İnepazar. He had fine conversations with eş-Şeyh Muslihiddîn Efendi, the sheikh of İnepazar and his companion on the path. He invited Sultan Süleyman Khan, returning from the Iranian campaign, to his lodge, and the Sultan accepted the invitation and honoured him with his favour. He died around 978 [1570-71]. Efte, Bâyezîd Ata and His Lodge

Efte (also appearing in the records as Eftem or Aktem) is one of the villages attached to Amasya. In the 1576 survey of Amasya the lodge of Sheikh Bâyezîd is mentioned together with this village, and the lodge's revenues are assigned in the waqf records to the Sheikh Bâyezîd Waqf. This survey confirms that the lodge Hüsameddin describes existed at about the same time. That İlyas Ata was the son of Bâyezîd Ata and served as sheikh in the lodge also appears in the same records; the family chain Hüsameddin gives (Bâyezîd Ata, İlyâs Ata, Burhân Ata) agrees with this information.

Süleyman the Magnificent's Visit

Süleyman the Magnificent, returning from the third Iranian campaign (1553-1555), came to Amasya on 30 October 1554 and spent the winter here. In 1555 the Peace of Amasya was also signed here. The visit to the lodge that Hüsameddin describes most probably falls in that winter; but the text gives no date, so this is an inference. The information that Burhân Ata died around 978 [1570-71] falls after the Sultan's death (1566).

The Name Abdâl Ata

The epithet "Abdâl Atâ" in the heading is not explained in the text. For Muslihiddin Efendi, the sheikh of İnepazar, and for Ya'kûb Ata, no separate record was found.
