Abatmak olur.

He was from Hakala, the old centre of the district (nahiye) of (Argoma-Suluova), about three hours north of Amasya. He was the son of Sulî Bey, one of the Turkmen beys. On his father's death, as head of his tribe, during the Simre sultanate he attached himself to the Second Sultan Mesud (of the Seljuks) and became emir of the Argoma district. His son Emir Mübârizeddîn Sevindik Bey and his grandson Tur Ali Bey, and the latter's sons el-Hâc Mehmed and Mahmud Beys, became very well known. His line was called "Âbâdoğulları". Of these, Kâsım Bey had a madrasa and the Ayşe Hatun Mosque built in Hakala, and Mehmed Beyzâde Mirza Bey had a school and a mosque built in the village of Kuşcu. It was the Âbâdoğulları who made the village of Hakala a perfect town. His other son is Sulî Bey.
Âbâd is pure Turkish and means flourishing, cheerful, abundant. For abâd is a transitive form of the verb abamak, meaning to put in order, to spare. It means something that goes beyond putting in order and protecting, so that it becomes flourishing and abundant. It becomes flourishing and joyful. It becomes abatmak.

Where Hakala Is Today
The Hakala named in the text is today the village of Yolpınar in the district of Suluova. Yolpınar was the centre of the old Hakala district, and the district is mentioned in the Ottoman period as one of the four districts of Amasya. The old name of Suluova is also Arguma. The settlement later took the name Alaflı, in 1902 the name Suluca as a district, and in 1946 the name Suluova, and in 1957 it became a district (ilçe).
Of the buildings Hüsameddin mentions, the Kasım Bey Madrasa is described as a stone building on high ground east of the village, with a large lecture hall and wide cells. It is said to be counted among the first forty of the madrasas of Amasya, and part of it stands today. The existence of a madrasa belonging to Hacı Beyzâde Muhyiddin Efendi in the same village is also known; only ruins remain of it.
That Hakala was an important settlement in history can also be understood from other events. The army of Kara Devletşah, sent by Timur to Amasya as governor, came as far as the front of this village. West of the village are the lodge (zaviye) and tomb built by Seyyid Necmeddin Yahya Rufâî.
On the Name in the Heading
In the heading of the entry the person is called "Emîr Sârimeddîn", but this name does not appear in the text. The explanation of the meaning of the name "Âbâd" in the text belongs to Hüsameddin. Today the word is mostly used in the sense of prosperity, at the end of place names; we could not verify with another source Hüsameddin's counting it as pure Turkish.
No record of Âbâd Bey himself was found other than the information Hüsameddin gives. For his son Sevindik Bey and his grandson Tur Ali Bey too, no separate source could be found.
