The Campaign of Köprülüzâde Abdullah Pasha

The seraskier in the text, Köprülüzâde Abdullah Pasha, is the son of the grand vizier Köprülü Mustafa Pasha. Abdullah Pasha, who went to Iran at the head of an Ottoman army, suffered a heavy defeat on the banks of the Arpaçay, near Bağavird, to a planned counterattack by a smaller Persian army under Nadir Shah, and died in Muharrem 1148 [June 1735]. The event Hüsameddin mentions with the word "şehâdetinde" is expected to be this battle. It is said that Ahmed Ağa underwent "rather important muvâhazes"; Hüsameddin does not explain what these were, and no other source throwing light on the matter was found.

According to the text, Ahmed Ağa was sent to Iran again in 1151. No information on Taşçızâde Ahmed Ağa himself or on his family was found in other sources.
