From Ladik to Palace Service
The entry plainly tells Ahmed Bey's path: birth at Ladik, entry into the Enderun through his brother-in-law, training in the Seferli Chamber, the office of kapıcıbaşı in the provinces and then palace posts. The "deposition of Selim III" that Hüsameddin dates to 1222 [1807] is the event that the encyclopedic account presents as the Kabakçı Mustafa revolt and the coups that followed; the reason Ahmed Bey was dismissed and withdrew in that event is not stated in the text. Nor is it written in which city the Haydar Paşa cemetery, where he lies, is located.
No source other than Hüsameddin could be found on Ahmed Bey and his father Ladikli İbrahim Ağa. No information on these persons was found in other sources.
