He was the son of Hacı Hafız Osman Efendi bin Hacı Mehmed Efendi, hadith professor (muhaddis) of the Sultan Bayezid Mosque. He completed his studies under Hacı Ali of Suruklu and Hacı Mehmed Efendi of Payas, received a license and gave public lectures.

In 1229 [1813-14], on the death of his brother Hafız Mehmed Halis Efendi, he became holder of the income of the hadith professorship endowment that Damgacı Hacı Ahmed Ağa had set up in the Sultan Bayezid Mosque; he kept up the expounding of hadith and the teaching of Bukhari's Sahih, and in 1246 [1830-31], at about seventy years of age, he passed to the abode of bliss. A Hadith Lecture in the Mosque

The entry shows that a lecture endowment founded by Damgacı Hacı Ahmed Ağa in the Sultan Bayezid Mosque passed from brother to brother. It is written that Seküköylüzade Ahmed Efendi died at about seventy; counting back from 1246, the year of birth falls around 1176 [1762-63], but this calculation is an inference from Hüsameddin's phrase "about seventy" and not a firm date. His teachers Hacı Ali of Suruklu and Hacı Mehmed Efendi of Payas are met with in other entries too; they show the circle of teaching in Amasya in this period.

Within the Sultan Bayezid complex, madrasa and mosque services were run on separate waqf incomes; according to the inscriptions and the deed of endowment, the complex consists of the mosque, soup kitchen, madrasa and children's school. No source other than Hüsameddin could be found on Ahmed Efendi and his family. No information on this person was found in other sources.
