The State Posts of a Notable Family
Hüsameddin's short entry shows how the provincial notables linked up with Istanbul: a path from council membership in the town to the voivodeship of Merzifon, then to a purchasing post in Sivas on behalf of the state and the title of kapıcıbaşı. Whether this title denotes an office or a rank is not detailed in the text. That his father Hacı Ömer Bey served as deputy governor of Amasya is known only from this sentence.
No source other than Hüsameddin could be found on Ahmed Bey and his father. No information on these persons was found in other sources.
