In Modern English
He was a native of Lâdik. He was the son of Mustafa Pasha, son of the former grand vizier Tayyâr Mehmed Pasha of Lâdik. After his father's execution in 1069 [1658-59] he came and settled in his home town of Lâdik. Since all his father's goods and property were confiscated by the state, he was left empty-handed.
In 1072 [1661-62], through the favour of Köprülüzâde Fâzıl Ahmed Pasha, he became a zeâmet holder and was saved from poverty. In 1081 [1670-71], because he worked selflessly and showed valour in the Cretan (Candia) War, his zeâmet rose to thirty thousand akçe. Then he became alaybeyi and voivode of Lâdik.
In Muharrem 1095 [December 1683-January 1684], under the patronage of Bayburtluzâde Kara İbrâhim Pasha, who had become grand vizier, he became sanjak governor (mîrlivâ) of the Sanjak of Canik. In 1097 [1685-86] he was dismissed. When the said grand vizier was dismissed and killed, he followed Yeğen Osman Pasha and died, killed, in 1100 [1688-89].

The Tayyâr Family of Lâdik
Tayyâr Mehmed Pasha was a statesman born in Lâdik who came out of this town of the sanjak of Amasya and served as governor in various provinces. His father was Uçar Mustafa Pasha, governor of Baghdad. Tayyâr Mehmed Pasha became grand vizier in 1638 on the death of Bayram Pasha during Murad IV's Baghdad campaign, and fell as a martyr in the assault on the fortress on 24 December 1638, in the last days of the siege. His grave is in Baghdad, in the cemetery of the Tomb of Imam-ı Âzam, next to his father's grave. It is reported that the sultan said of him, "Ah Tayyâr, you were worth a hundred fortresses like the fortress of Baghdad."
The phrase Hüsameddin uses in this entry, "former grand vizier Mustafa Pasha, son of Tayyâr Mehmed Pasha of Lâdik", is ambiguous: it is unclear whether Mustafa Pasha is the grand vizier's son, or Tayyâr himself, referred to as "Mustafa Paşazâde". In the sources Uçar Mustafa Pasha is named as Tayyâr Mehmed Pasha's father, while the name of his son is not known. It was not possible in this study to match the Mustafa Pasha said to have been executed in 1069 with any record. The date coincides with the years 1658-59, when the Abaza Hasan rebellion was suppressed; but no source was seen linking them.
Candia and Canik
The conquest of Crete ended, after a long siege under Fâzıl Ahmed Pasha, with the surrender of Candia by treaty on 9 Rebîülâhir 1080 [6 September 1669]. Hüsameddin, however, writes that valour was shown in the Candia War in "1081"; the difference of a year may arise from the service at the end of the siege years, or the zeâmet promotion, being recorded in the following year. This is a guess and has no confirmation in the sources.
The date of Kara İbrahim Pasha's grand vizierate (the execution of Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha on 6 Muharrem 1095, followed by his grand vizierate) agrees with the "Muharrem 1095" Hüsameddin gives. Ahmed Bey's joining Yeğen Osman Pasha after Kara İbrahim Pasha was dismissed in 1097 and killed on Rhodes in 1098 is part of the same rebellion described in the previous two entries. No information was found in other sources on Ahmed Bey.
