Kadızâde Ahmed Efendi
The nisba "Kadızâde" in the entry's title suggests there was a kadı in the family; the text, however, gives only the name of Ahmed Efendi's father. The places where Ahmed Efendi served as kadı, the names of his madrasas and his works are not stated in the text. No information was found in other sources on him and his family. For this reason no record can be offered that would confirm or alter Hüsameddin's verdict "he was learned and mature".
The exact meaning of the phrase "hal ü hasmına müvella" in the text is not clear; it may be understood either that he was commissioned to resolve the matters, or that he took part in resolving certain disputes. In the translation a general wording covering both senses was chosen.
