Notes on the Entry

The entry gives an example of the zeamet-holding military elite in Amasya. The mîralay command is the command of the sipahi units of the sanjak of Amasya. The man was appointed to this post three times, then retired and joined the local council. He belongs to the same circle as the people Hüsameddin describes in entries 649, 655, 656 and 657, that is, the notables of Amasya in the 1740s and 1750s. No information was found in the sources consulted about his uncle, Rahtuvan Hacı Mehmed Pasha; likewise no information could be found in other sources about Ebûbekir Bey.
