He was from Amasya. He was the son of Mirza Ali Pasha, brother of the former grand vizier Hubyarlı Seyyid Hacı Ahmed Pasha, and the nephew of the said grand vizier. He was one of the zeamet holders of Amasya and in 1148 [1735-36] became Alaybeyi of Amasya. In 1149 [1736-37] he went to Istanbul and became agent for expenditure (harç) of his uncle Hacı Ahmed Pasha and, during his grand vizierate, kapıcıbaşı (head of palace gatekeepers).
When his uncle was dismissed from the grand vizierate he travelled the country as his kethüda (steward), and after his uncle's death he came to Üsküdar and settled there. He lived in retirement for about seven years and died in 1173 [1759-60]. He was buried at the Karaca Ahmed Cemetery beside Telhîsîzade Ahmed Ağa. The Grand Vizier Hacı Ahmed Pasha
The uncle mentioned in the entry should be Hacı Ahmed Pasha, also known as Hobyarlı; however, this identification could not be verified with certainty from the sources read here. In a grandson's account, this grand vizier is said to have served about two years as grand vizier under Mahmud I, to have died in 1753 while governor of Aleppo, and to have been involved in trade and jewelry. Hüsameddin's entry, for its part, says that after his uncle's death the nephew lived in retirement in Üsküdar for about seven years. The two accounts do not contradict each other: seven years after 1753 is close to the year of death, 1173 [1759-60], that Hüsameddin gives.
No information was found in the sources consulted about Mirza Ali Pasha, Telhîsîzade Ahmed Ağa or the Karaca Ahmed Cemetery.
