A Family of Teachers and a Student of Ürgüplü
The Ahmed Efendi of the entry became müderris of the madrasa known by his own grandfather's name; the passing of the müderrisship from grandfather to grandson shows that madrasa posts in Amasya could continue within a family. In 1207 he received icazet from Ürgüplü Hacı Ahmed Efendi. This date coincides with the same year as the icazetname mentioned in the entry on Ahmed Efendi of Ürgüp: Hüsameddin writes that he saw the icazetname Ürgüplü Efendi gave in 1207 to "Ayıntablı Kara Osmanzâde Ahmed Efendi." The similarity of name and year suggests that these two persons are the same; but the author does not state this explicitly, so it is an inference. "Antabî" and "Ayıntablı" in the text are different spellings of the same nisba.
The hijri year 1207 corresponds to about 1792-93, and 1218 to about 1803-04. No information was found in other sources on this person.
