Content with this post, he taught for years and became known as "Hatîb Efendi." In 1114 [1702-03] he handed the preaching post over to his son-in-law Hüseyin Efendi, and in 1115 [1703-04] the imamate to his son Hâfız Mehmed Efendi, giving up his right to them, and he died in 1116 [1704-05]. Five Generations of a Preacher Family

The notable aspect of the text is that the imamate and preaching post of one mosque passed from hand to hand within the same family. In 1114 and 1115 Hatîb Efendi left these duties, in his lifetime, to his son-in-law and his son. In the lineage given in the book, five generations are counted from Hatîb Efendi to his grandchildren who died in 1271, and over this span at least three people are seen to have been imam or preacher, while the others are mentioned only by their years of death. Family records of this kind make it possible, in Hüsâmeddin's book, to follow over centuries who carried out which duty in which neighborhood.

Köprü is today's Vezirköprü, attached to Amasya. No information was found in other sources on the Hüseyin Ağa Mosque, Kara Müderriszade Ahmed Efendi or Pîrîzade Hüseyin Efendi. For this reason the family's lineage and duties rest solely on Hüsâmeddin's record.
