The Karayazıcı Attack
Karayazıcı is the nickname of Abdülhalim of Urfa, who had also served as sanjak bey of Amasya and raised the first of the Celâlî revolts that began in the late sixteenth century; he died around 1602. After his death his followers continued to stir up the region. In 1603 Amasya was attacked by these circles, the city was burned and plundered, and the leading men were forced to take refuge in the royal tombs with their wealth. The date 1011 [1602-03] that Hüsameddin gives coincides with these events.
Hacı Beyzâde and the Continuation of the Family
No record could be found about Çerkes Bey's master Hacı Beyzâde Ahmed Pasha other than Hüsameddin. Persons known under the name Hacı Beyzâde, such as Tâceddîn İbrâhim Pasha (Tâcî Bey), who was at the palace of Bayezid II in Amasya, appear in the records, but no connection with them could be established.
The Çerkesoğulları family is recorded in Amasya in the nineteenth century as well; that Hâfız Hasan Efendi is mentioned as census clerk in 1261 [1845] shows that the family held posts in Amasya in the nineteenth century too. For the person named "Mehmed Sûzî" no separate record was found.
