Tayyar Mehmed Pasha
The grand vizier named in the text is Tayyar Mehmed Pasha, raised to the grand vizierate during Murad IV's Baghdad campaign. According to Abdülkadir Özcan, the Pasha was the son of Uçar Mustafa Pasha, a former governor of Baghdad who was martyred in 1034 (1625), and "is reported to have come from the line of Yeni Bey of Lâdik"; Hüsameddin's book is cited for this. So the family link appears in another source as well, but its source is again Hüsameddin. It is unclear whether Hüsameddin uses the word "hafîd" for a direct grandson of Bâlî Çelebi or for a descendant; the Pasha's tie to Bâlî Çelebi could not be verified in another source.
According to the same entry, Tayyar Mehmed Pasha became sanjak-bey of Urfa in 1027 (1618), governor of Aleppo in 1030 (1621), and Beylerbeyi of Sivas in 1622. At Sivas he confronted Abaza Pasha; later, in the battle near Kayseri (5 September 1624), he secured the superiority of the government forces. In the following years he served as beylerbeyi of Damascus, Erzurum and Diyarbekir. On 27 August 1638 (16 Rebîülâhir 1048) he was raised to the grand vizierate during the Baghdad campaign and on 23 December 1638 (16 Şâban 1048) he was martyred in the siege. His tomb is in the cemetery of the Imam Âzam, at the foot of the grave of his father Uçar Mustafa Pasha. His sons Mustafa, Ahmed and Hüseyin Pashas also served as beylerbeyis.
The End of Şehzade Ahmed
Bâlî Çelebi's waqf of Karacavirân is dated 918. According to Emecen, Şehzade Ahmed's strangling came after the battle on the plain of Yenişehir (8 Safer 919 / 15 April 1513); so the waqf was made shortly before Ahmed's end.
No information on Hasan Çelebi, Bâlî Çelebi's mosque in Lâdik, or the village of Karacavirân was found in the sources read. Bâlî Çelebi's stewardship of the Amasya mukâta'ât in 935 could not be verified either.
