The Selâmî Lodges of Üsküdar

There is more than one lodge in Üsküdar that bears the name Selâmî. Selâmi Ali Efendi (d. 1691), founder of the Selâmiyye branch of the Celvetiyye order, had three lodges built in Üsküdar, at Fıstıkağacı (Acıbadem), Selâmsız and Kısıklı. A further establishment called "Selâmi Efendi Lodge" was founded in 1213 [1798-99] for the Nakşibendi sheikh Seyyid Mustafa Selâmi Efendi of İzmir (d. 1813) by Arabacızâde İbrâhim Nesim Efendi, steward of the grand vizier. After Selâmi Efendi's death, Sheikh Mehmed Mustafa Müştak Efendi of Bitlis (d. 1831) took over the lodge, which was attached to the Kâdiriyye order throughout his term as sheikh.

Which of these establishments Hüsameddin means is not clear. The lists of sheikhs in the sources we read do not contain the name of İğnepazarlı Mehmed Efendi or of his sons Ahmed and İsmâil Efendi; since these lists are evidently not continuous, this is not counted as a contradiction, but the information could not be verified on this side. No information was found in other sources on the İğnepazarlı family.
