In Modern English
He is the son of İlyas Bey, Hacı Nevruz Beyzade, one of the beys of Amasya. He was called "Hacı Beyzade." In the month of Muharram of the year 941 [1534-35] he came from Ankara as mutasarrıf of Amasya (administrator of the sanjak). He was charged with investigating the event. To the governorship of Sivas Mehmed Pasha of Amasya, one of the viziers, was appointed.
Since the kadı of Amasya, Müeyyedzade Abdulhay Efendi, and the mufti of Amasya, Ümmü Veledzade Abdülaziz Efendi, had been involved in this great catastrophe, both were dismissed and sent to Istanbul. Karabâğî Mehmed Efendi, professor of the Hüseyin Ağa Madrasa, was sent to İznik as professor of the Orhaniye Madrasa. His brother Velî Efendi son of Abdülkerim died in this event.
Lütfullahzade Fahreddin Mehmed Efendi, one of the great kadıs, came from Istanbul as kadı of Amasya. Ankaralı es-Seyyid Seyrek Muhyiddin Efendi, who was professor of the Yörgüç Pasha Madrasa and deputy of the nakîbü'l-eşrâf (head of the sayyids and sharifs), became mufti of Amasya. Karabâğî Velî Efendizade Abdülcebbâr Efendi also went to Istanbul.
Hüseyin Ağa of Rumiyye was rewarded with a large zeamet. Cebecizade Hasan Bey became alaybeyi of Amasya; the fortress guardian Mehmed Ağa was likewise given a large zeamet. The wanderers and dervishes who had stirred up and corrupted public opinion were expelled from the tekkes of Amasya.
In the year 942 [1535-36] Velî Pasha went about every part of the whole sanjak. He set out to comb for brigands. By punishing the bandits he found at once, he strove to secure general safety in the sanjak of Amasya. Then for the second time he became beylerbeyi of Ankara and guardian of Anatolia. Seydî Ahmed Pasha, beylerbeyi of Mosul, was appointed to the mutasarrıflık of Amasya.

Order After the Raid
This entry lists the administrative changes that followed immediately after the Shiite raid narrated in the previous entry. The event called "vak'a-i hâ'ile" created an atmosphere of settling accounts in which the kadı and the mufti were dismissed and a madrasa professor was exiled to İznik. Hüsameddin does not write what the offense of these persons was; he reports only that they "were involved" in the raid. The mufti named in the text, Ümmü Veledzade Abdülaziz Efendi, had been appointed in the previous entry together with Mehmed Bey's taking office; that is, his term closed with this event. The kadı Müeyyedzade Abdulhay Efendi, however, reappears in a later entry as kadı for a second time in Prince Mustafa's Amasya.
The expulsion of "wanderers and dervishes" from the tekkes may be considered together with the fact that at that time pro-Safavid Kızılbaş circles in Anatolia were closely watched. This is an interpretation; the text does not say who the expelled dervishes were or on what charge they were put out.
Velî Pasha and the Sanjak of Amasya
A study on the sanjak beys of Amasya writes that, through the consistent administration of Velî Pasha, who became sanjak bey of Amasya in 1534, the risings in the region could be ended, and bases this information on Hüsameddin. This is a present-day summary of the entry's sentence "he punished the bandits he found." Another study also relates that after 1534 events in Anatolia began to subside but that danger continued along the frontier. Details such as how many years Velî Pasha stayed at Amasya and in which year who succeeded him could not be verified in the sources at hand. In Hüsameddin's later entries Velî Pasha also appears as "guardian" (muhâfız) in Prince Mustafa's Amasya.
No detail was found in another source on Velî Pasha and his family beyond the information Hüsameddin gives.
