Esbak Amasya kadısı Muslihzâde Abdurrahmân Efendi'nin mahdûmu olup "Kadızâde" demekle meşhûrdur. Mehmed ve Mahmûd Paşalar'ın küçük kardaşıdır. Amasya sancağı alaybeyisi ve muhâfız vekîli iken 937 senesi şa'bânında Amasya beyi oldu.
Çünkü Amasya havâlîsinde eksik olmayan eşkıyâyı ta'kîb ederek [298] Zünnûnoğlu Halîl Bey'i yalnız başına ma'iyyetindeki kuvve-i mevcûdesiyle istîsâl etmeğe muvaffak olduğuna mükâfâten mîrlivâ olmuşdu. Halîl Bey, pek azılı bir şakî idi. Bunun istîsâli oldukça bir vak'a-i mühimme olmuşdu.
938 senesinde Seydî Bey Irâk harbine me'mûr olarak gitdi. Bundan cür'et alan ihtilâl erbâbı Amasya etrâfında yine baş kaldırmağa başladı. Bu esnâda zuhûr eden hâdiseler üzerine eşkıyâ harbinde büyük yararlığı görülen Niğbolu beyi Mehmed Bey, Amasya sancağı beyliğine ta'yîn edildi.
In Modern English
He is the son of the former kadı of Amasya, Muslihzade Abdurrahman Efendi; he is known as "Kadızade." He is the younger brother of Mehmed and Mahmud Pashas. While alaybeyi of the sanjak of Amasya and deputy guardian, he became bey of Amasya in the month of Sha'ban of the year 937 [1530-31].
For he had become mirliva as a reward because, pursuing the brigands who were never lacking around Amasya, he had succeeded, alone, with the force he had at hand, in uprooting Zünnunoğlu Halil Bey. Halil Bey was a very fierce brigand. The uprooting of him had been quite an important event.
In the year 938 [1531-32] Seydi Bey was assigned to the Iraq war and went. Taking courage from this, the rebels began to raise their heads again around Amasya. On the events that arose at this time, Mehmed Bey, bey of Nikopol, who had shown great service in the brigand wars, was appointed to the sanjak of Amasya.

The End of Zünnunoğlu Halil Bey
Halil Bey is, according to some researchers, the son of Baba Zünnun and the tribal bey of the Hisar Beğlü clan. Many clans such as the Çiçeklü, Ağca Koyunlu and Mesutlu joined the rising that began in 1527, and the number of those who rose reached 5-6 thousand. The same account writes that Halil escaped from a clash on the plain of Pasin; Hüsameddin, by contrast, reports that he was finally eliminated by Seydi Ahmed Bey and counts this as the reason for Seydi Ahmed Bey's being rewarded with the mirlivalık. According to the book this success took place before Sha'ban 937. No other source was found on Seydi Ahmed Bey's name or on the details of Halil Bey's death. The seventeenth-century Seydi Ahmed Pasha of the same name (executed in 1661) is an entirely different person and should not be confused with him.
The Date of the Iraq War
Hüsameddin writes that in the year 938 [1531-32] Seydi Bey went to the "Iraq war." The Irakeyn Campaign that the Ottomans conducted against the Safavids, however, is mentioned at the capture of Tabriz in August 1534 and was an operation lasting more than two years. The difference between the two dates suggests that Hüsameddin may be pointing to another preparation or campaign; no source explaining this could be reached. For this reason the date is left as Hüsameddin's record.
The Kadızade Family
Hüsameddin's calling him "Kadızade" is because Seydi Ahmed Bey's father, Muslihzade Abdurrahman Efendi, was kadı of Amasya. The identity of Mehmed and Mahmud Pashas, mentioned as his brothers, is not explained in this entry. No information was found in other sources on Mehmed Bey, bey of Nikopol, either.
