İstanbul’da Millet Kütüphanesi, Enderûn Kütüphanesi, Sultân Süleyman Kütüphanesi Şehîd Ali Paşa Kütüphanesi, Nur-ı Osmâniyye Kütüphanesi, Esad Efendi Kütüphanesi, Yerebatan Kütüphanesi, Veliyyeddîn Efendi Kütüphanesi, Lâleli Kütüphânesi, Ayasofya Kütüphanesi, Fâtih Kütüphanesi, Köprülüzâde Fâzıl Ahmed Paşa Kütüphanesi, Murâd Molla Kütüphanesi, Cârullâh Efendi Kütüphanesi, Feyzullah Efendi Kütüphanesi, Bağdatlı İsmail Paşa’nın kütüphanesinde incelemelerde bulunmuştur.
In Modern English
It is seen that the 12 volumes of Amasya Tarihi have a rich variety of sources in many fields, from history to literature and from biography to geography. In addition, besides first-hand sources such as inscriptions, gravestones, documents recorded in the state archives and collections of registers, oral sources were also used in the work.
Abdîzâde Hüseyin Hüsameddîn obtained and studied many works from libraries. He found the opportunity to see these works especially in the writing of works of art in the libraries of Istanbul and while he was charged with inspecting libraries.
In Istanbul he carried out studies in the Millet Library, the Enderûn Library, the Sultan Süleyman Library, the Şehid Ali Pasha Library, the Nur-ı Osmaniye Library, the Esad Efendi Library, the Yerebatan Library, the Veliyyüddin Efendi Library, the Lâleli Library, the Hagia Sophia Library, the Fatih Library, the Köprülüzâde Fazıl Ahmed Pasha Library, the Murad Molla Library, the Cârullah Efendi Library, the Feyzullah Efendi Library and the library of Bağdatlı İsmail Pasha.
The most important library he drew on in Amasya is the Abdüllatif Efendi Library. Abdüllatif Efendi (Emîr İmam) is the son of Hâfız Halil Efendi, first imam of Sultan Bayezid in Amasya; Halil Efendi is in turn the son of Abdüllatif Efendi, who is the son of Hâce Mehmed Efendi. His brother is the vizier es-Seyyid Abdülgani Pasha. He did not spend the large sum of money sent by Abdülgani Pasha, but had a large library built opposite the Sultan Bayezid School. He sent the books he bought and collected here, and endowed his books and properties here as a waqf. But in the fire that broke out in 1333 AH (1914-1915 CE) at the place where the library stood, the books were removed, the library with its gardens and the adjoining fetvahâne was demolished, and not even a small trace of this structure remained. In Amasya the author also drew on the Hüseyin Ağa Madrasa Library and the Sultan Bayezid Library.
He drew on the Sultan Selim II Library in Edirne, the works in the library built by el-Hâc Ahmed Efendi in Çorum, and the libraries and private libraries found in Bursa, the Hejaz, Syria and other Ottoman cities.

The Author's Post and the Libraries
Hüsameddin's being able to enter so many libraries is related to his profession. According to his biography in the TDV İslâm Ansiklopedisi, he wrote the history of the Evkâf-ı Hümâyun Nezâreti; he himself worked in the Kuyûd-ı Vakfiye Administration, where waqf records were kept, and retired from this administration by age limit in 1935. The library inspection duty mentioned in the text can be understood as part of this work; however, the exact scope of the duty is not given in detail in the sources at hand.
The destruction of the Abdüllatif Efendi Library rests on Hüsameddin's own account. No information on this library or on the fire of 1333 was found in another source. That the library held a special importance for the author, who says he studied the books in the Abdüllatif Efendi Library in his youth, is understood from the biography relayed in the same encyclopedia entry.
