In Modern English
He was the son of Seyyid Hacı Hüseyin Ağa, son of Seyyid Mehmed Ağa, son of Kınalı Osman Ağa, of the notables of Amasya, and the other nephew of Seyyid Pasha. He was known as a mukataa (state revenue source) tax-farmer and as the emin (trustee) of the avarız and nüzul taxes.
Several times he served as deputy to the nakîbüleşraf (head of the descendants of the Prophet), and he became a member of the council of pilgrims and of the council of ayan. Because he served in the Persian wars both with his wealth and in person, he became chief of the seyyids and a gedikli (salaried member) of the palace. He died on his return, in 1149 [1736-37]. His was a generous, noble family. His sons are Seyyid Hacı Ali and Hasan Ağas.

Tax Collector and Leader of the Seyyids
The entry for Mumcuzâde Seyyid Hacı Ahmed Ağa shows the relation of the Amasya ayan both to the business of tax collection and to the institution of the seyyids. Hacı Hüseyin Ağa's father Seyyid Mehmed Ağa and grandfather Kınalı Osman are also ancestors of the other Mumcuzâde Ahmed Ağa mentioned in entry 626; the two men are thus cousins, and both are called "nephew of Seyyid Ahmed Pasha". The text does not give this Seyyid Pasha's identity or post here; entry 626 names him as beylerbeyi of Kastamonu.
That the leadership of the seyyids and the rank of gedikli were granted in return for financial and actual participation in the Persian wars shows that, for these families, local influence and palace rank were tied together. Which campaigns are meant is not stated; Hüsameddin says only "İran muhârebâtı". No information on him was found in other sources.
