In Modern English
He was from Ladik. While he was studying in Amasya under Îydîzâde Hacı Mustafa Efendi, the event of 1142 [1729-30] broke out, so he went to Ankara and completed his studies there under Ankaralı İbrahim Efendi, professor of the tekke madrasa, who died in Şevval 1155 [1742], and received the authorization to give general lectures.
In 1163 [1749-50] he became professor of the Eminiye Madrasa in Ankara; in view of his scholarly reputation, virtue and piety he also became mufti of Ankara. After being dismissed he fell ill, and in 1185 [1771-72] he withdrew, leaving his professorship to his student Seyyid İbrahim Efendi, and died at the end of the year. Among the scholars he was a pious man devoted to the sharia.

The Event of 1142
The text does not say what the "event of 1142" was. 1142 corresponds to 1729-30 in the Gregorian calendar. Since which event it was could not be verified in the sources researched, it is not named here. According to Hüsameddin this event caused Ahmed Efendi to go from Amasya to Ankara.
From Amasya to Ankara
The text describes a student from Ladik who studied first in Amasya, then in Ankara, and became a professor and mufti there. His teacher Îydîzâde Hacı Mustafa Efendi may be the same person as the teacher who appears in the next two entries as Îydîzâde Hacı Mustafa Akif Efendi; the text does not say this explicitly. In searches on the Eminiye Madrasa in Ankara and on Ahmed Efendi's muftiship and years of service, no information was found in other sources.
