He died at the beginning of 1224 [1809]. He was a scholar, a jurist and a preacher.

The Madrasa Built by the Mütesellim

The entry reports that in 1792-93 Hacı Mustafa Ağa, mütesellim of Amasya, had a madrasa built beside the saddlers' quarter. The mütesellim is the official who collected taxes as the deputy of the sanjak governor; here we see such a local administrator having a madrasa built. In searches about the present state of the madrasa, no verifiable source could be found.

It is understood that on the death of the professor Süleyman Efendi, Çelebizâde Ahmed Efendi took his place. That this man was also the müsevvid of some muftis shows that he worked as an assistant to muftis in writing fatwas. No separate source was found on Hacı Ahmed Efendi of Ürgüp; he is also named as his teacher in entry no. 722. No information on this person was found in other sources.
