Amasya’da Gümüşlüzâde Câmii imâmı şeyhü’l-kurra el-Hâc Hasan Efendi’nin mahdûmudur. Pederinden vücûh-ı kırâ’atı ve Fâzıl [713] Abdullah Vecîh Efendi’den ulûm-ı Arabiyye ve şer’iyyeyi ahz-ı ikmâl ederek mücâz olup pederinin vefâtında Gümüşlüzâde Câmii imâmı ve ittisâlinde Medrese-i Fâtimîye müderrisi oldu. 1223 recebinde vefât etdi. Âlim, kârî mücevvid bir imâm idi. Birâderi eş-Şeyh Mehmed Efendi imâm oldu.

He was the son of Hacı Hasan Efendi, imam of the Gümüşlüzâde Mosque in Amasya and head of the Qur'an reciters. He learned the modes of Qur'an recitation from his father and the Arabic and religious sciences from the learned Abdullah Vecih Efendi, and received his license (icazet). When his father died he became imam of the Gümüşlüzâde Mosque, and soon afterwards müderris (madrasa professor) of the Fâtımiye Madrasa. He died in Recep 1223 [August-September 1808]. The scholar was an imam who recited the Qur'an according to its rules (mücevvid). His brother, Şeyh Mehmed Efendi, became imam.

Imamate and Professorship
The entry shows the post of mosque imam passing from father to son: from Hacı Hasan Efendi to his son Ahmed Efendi, and from him to his brother Mehmed Efendi. It is noteworthy that Ahmed Efendi was both imam and müderris; he took his knowledge of recitation from his father, and Arabic and the religious sciences from a separate teacher. Hüsameddin describes him as "an imam who knew recitation and followed the rules of tajwid."
No verifiable source could be found in searches on whether the Gümüşlüzâde Mosque is the same building as today's Gümüşlü Mosque, on the location of the Fâtımiye Madrasa, or on Fazıl Abdullah Vecih Efendi. The same name appears in entry no. 723 as Şeyhzâde Abdullah Vecih Efendi; it is not stated whether the two are the same person. No information on this person was found in other sources.
