The Scholar from Crimea
Hüsameddin reports that this man came from Crimea to Amasya in 1188. The political situation of Crimea in those years and the reason the migration was directed to Amasya are not stated in the entry; in the sources searched, no verifiable information was found on this migration to Amasya or on the village of Mirahor. For this reason no comment is made on the reasons for the man's migration.
The entry briefly shows the course an immigrant scholar followed in a new place: first spreading learning, then serving as imam in a village, then returning to the town to preach. His endowing his books to a library also shows that the Library of Osman Faik Efendi was receiving donations in those years; no further verifiable information was found on this library. The continuation of the family was known as "Tatar İmamoğulları", and one grandson became an engineer. Hüsameddin gives this grandson's name at length, but there is no other information about his engineering. No information on this person was found in other sources.
