The Gümüşlüzâdes and the Silver Mine
The Gümüşlüzâde family descends from Gümüşlü Muînüddin Abdullah el-Müstevfî, who ran the treasury and finances of the Seljuk state. The Gümüşlü Mosque in Amasya was built in 1325 by Gümüşlüzâde Tâceddin Mahmud Çelebi. The Gümüş region takes its name from its silver mines; this region was also known for mining in the Ottoman period. Armağan Bey's being steward of the mine is to be understood in this setting.
No information was found in any source other than Hüsameddin about Armağan Bey's son Yahya Çelebi and his grandsons. The present-day equivalent of the quarter called "Armağan" could not be determined either.
