He was a native of Amasya. He is Hacı Savcı Bey, one of the emirs; he was the son of Umur Bey, who was the son of Mehmed Bey, who in turn was the son of Aydın Bey. He was one of the emirs of Hacı Şadgeldi Pasha and was the owner of the Saz property. He died after the year 768 [1366-67]. His sons were Ali and Hamza Bey.

The Emirs of Hacı Şadgeldi
Hacı Şadgeldi, to whom Hacı Savcı Bey was attached, ruled the city as Emir of Amasya from 1359 until his death in 1381, and was one of the emirs who acted on their own as the Eretnid state was breaking up. That an emir whom Hüsameddin writes died after 768 [1366-67] was in Şadgeldi's service in this period agrees with the dates: the killing of the Eretnid ruler Mehmed Bey in Sivas (1365) and the emirs' subsequent independence fall in these years.
The genealogical chain is striking. The order "Umur Bey, Mehmed Bey, Aydın Bey" recalls the names of Aydın Bey, Mübârizeddin Mehmed Bey and Umur Bey, lord of Izmir, the founders of the Aydınoğulları in western Anatolia. However, the encyclopedia entry written on the Aydınoğulları makes no mention of an emir of Amasya named Hacı Savcı or of a branch settled in Amasya. Hüsameddin describes this family as a local line in Amasya that owned the Saz property; whether the two families are related could not be determined in this research.
No information was found in other sources on the Saz property or on Hacı Savcı Bey.
