In Modern English
He was from Köprü. He learned scholarship in Amasya and came to give lessons open to all. Later, purifying his heart in the conversations of Sheikh Zekeriyya-yı Halvetî, the Sheikh of the Saddlers, he received a hilâfetname (certificate of sheikhhood). Returning to Köprü, he became sheikh of the lodge that Hacı Beyzâde Halil Bey had built at Kedağra.
There, occupied with training disciples, teaching and writing fatwas, he died in the month of Ramadan of the year 898 [June-July 1493]. He was a scholar, one who had withdrawn his hand from the world, pious and devoted to the sharia. He became famous as "Halil Bey Zaviyesi, Aydın Şeyh Tekkesi" (the Halil Bey Lodge, the Lodge of Sheikh Aydın). His son is Pir Nefes Çelebi.

Khalwatism in Amasya and Sheikh Zekeriyya
Amasya is one of the first strong centers of Khalwatism in Ottoman lands. The first Khalwati sheikh in the city, Pîr İlyas (d. 1429), and after him Sheikh Zekeriyya Halvetî enjoyed wide respect in the region and ensured the spread of the order in Amasya. İğnecizâde Safiyüddin Mahmud (d. 1487-88), one of Sheikh Zekeriyya's caliphs, served in Saraçhane and won the trust of Prince Bayezid during his governorship of Amasya. According to Hüsameddin, Sheikh Aydın is a caliph who was raised in this circle and returned to Köprü.
The expression "Sheikh of the Saddlers" in the text means the sheikh of the lodge in the Saraçhane quarter. Zekeriyya Halvetî lies in the mausoleum in the garden of the Saraçhane Mosque; he endowed the land inherited from his father for the recitation of cüz at his mausoleum.
No information was found in other sources on Hacı Beyzâde Halil Bey, the founder of the lodge at Köprü, or on Pir Nefes Çelebi. The lodge could not be identified as a structure found in place today.
