The Mehmed Pasha Madrasa
The Mehmed Pasha Madrasa, in which his father Hacı Ömer Efendi and he himself served as müderris, belonged to the complex of Hızır Pashazade Mehmed Pasha (d. 900 [1495]) in Amasya. The complex comprised, together with the mosque completed in 891 [1486], a madrasa, imaret, tomb, tabhane, lodge, fountain and cemetery. The madrasa and imaret burned down and are lost; the mosque, its adjoining wing rooms and the tomb have reached the present. That Hacı Ömer Efendi taught in this madrasa until his death in 1095 [1683-84] and that his son took his place is learned from the text; no information on these two müderris was found in other sources.
The Sivas Defterdarship and the Confiscation
The people involved in the confiscation of 1131 [1718-19] in which Emrî Ali Efendi took part are connected with Sivas. An article exists on a family of Sivas said to reach back to the Timurid period, known as "Ahî Mehmed Pasha," and on its waqfs; since its content could not be read, its relation to the Ahî Mehmed Pasha of the text could not be verified. The identity of Bostancıbaşı Seyyid Mehmed Ağa and his son Ahmed, and the reason for and extent of the confiscation, were not found in the sources read. His judgeship of Çankırı also could not be tied to this person in other sources. The context of the confiscation is therefore unknown; apart from the dates and posts Hüsameddin gives, no verification could be made.
