In Modern English
She was from Amasya. She was the daughter of the vizier Ankebût Ahmed Pasha of Amasya and the wife of Ali Efendi of Amasya, şeyhülharem. She was born while her father was mutasarrıf in Amasya. Afterwards she married Ali Efendi, who was the pasha's divan secretary, and lived in her father's palace at Resmo on Crete, and later moved to Istanbul with her husband.
In 1092 [1681-82], at her father's death, she went to the Hejaz with her husband. After her husband too died she endowed her goods and property and died in 1114 [1702-03]. In Amasya she had assigned duties and salaries to the preacher of the Saraçhane Mosque and the professor of its madrasa. She also has charitable works in Istanbul, such as a preaching endowment for the Oruç Gazi Mosque.

Her Father, Ankebût Ahmed Pasha
Hüsameddin's footnote introduces her husband thus: Ali Efendi bin Osman is one of the viziers known as "Kapancı Ali Pasha". That Ali Efendi later became a vizier is understood from this footnote; no information was found in other sources on him, on "Kapancı Ali Pasha" or on the journey to the Hejaz.
For her father Ankebût Ahmed Pasha there is an endowment document registered on Crete. According to it, Ahmed Pasha was the son of Ali Bey, had also served as beylerbeyi of Buda, and was appointed serdar of Crete in 1661. After the conquest of Crete he stayed on the island, protecting it against attacks from within and from outside and trying to secure peace. The deed of endowment was drawn up on Crete on 10 May 1680 [1091] and registered in 1784 [1198]. The pasha's name is attached to a mosque at Yalıpetre (Ierapetra) in the south of Crete, now turned into a church; he is also said to have mosques at Candia and Resmo.
Here there is a difference in dates. According to Hüsameddin, his daughter went to the Hejaz in 1092 [1681-82] at her father's death. The record concerning Crete, however, says the pasha died in Hanya (Chania) in 1680. This difference of about a year may come from the records resting on different calendars or different sources; which is correct could not be determined. That the Ahmed Pasha of the Crete record and Hüsameddin's "Ankebût Ahmed Pasha of Amasya" are the same person is inferred from the match of name and office; the source does not state it.
The Oruç Gazi Mosque and the Saraçhane Mosque
Nothing beyond the title was found on the Oruç Gazi Mosque in the Istanbul Encyclopedia; no information was found in other sources on Ümmü Hânî Hanım's preaching endowment or on this mosque. For the Saraçhane Mosque there is information in studies on the Halvetî sheikhs of Amasya (see 7-312).
