The Patronage of Fâzıl Ahmed Pasha

Köprülüzâde Fâzıl Ahmed Pasha, under whom İsmâil Ağa became kapıcıbaşı, was born in 1635-36 in the town of Köprü (Vezirköprü), attached to Amasya, and was grand vizier for more than fifteen years. That is, the grand vizier who raised a notable of Amasya had himself been raised in the same region. Hüsameddin's statement that he rose under his patronage after his dismissal in 1071 fits this regional connection; but no record showing how the relationship was formed was found in the sources read.
