The Person the Entry Describes
The entry is a brief biography of a Janissary officer from the same quarter and contains very few facts: his father's name, the company he belonged to, three posts (yasakçı, commander of Amasya, commander of the countryside), the reason for his retirement and his death date. The entry does not say which document Hüsameddin took this information from.
The "Emirler affair" given as the reason for his retirement could not be found in sources outside this entry. The parties and nature of the event therefore remain unclear. As far as the text goes, his impartial stance during the affair was read by those around him as support for the Emirler and led to his removal.
What the Research Could Not Find
Searches on the Janissary corps in Amasya and its local officers turned up no record of this man, who was enrolled in the 87th company, or of the Çelebioğulları family. No other source with information on this person was found; the information above rests on Hüsameddin alone.
