In Modern English
He was from Köprü. He was the son of Müezzinzâde Abdurrahman Ağa, one of the notables of that place; Abdurrahman Ağa was the son of Hasan Ağa, who was the son of Müezzin Mehmed Çelebi. His paternal cousin Hacı Mehmed Ağa, son of Ali Bâlî Ağa, who was the son of Müezzin Mehmed Çelebi, joined the ranks of the zeamet holders during his lifetime.
On the death of the aforementioned Mehmed Ağa in 1058 [1648] he became voivode of Köprü. In 1061 [1650-51] he was dismissed, because he had sided with Abaza Hasan Pasha against Köprülü Mehmed Pasha. In 1064 [1653-54] he became voivode of Köprü again, and was dismissed early in 1067 [1656-57]. Withdrawn from affairs during Mehmed Pasha's grand vizierate, he died early in 1078 [1667-68]. He came of a long-established family.

Where Köprü Is
The "Köprü" of the entry is today's Vezirköprü, in Samsun province; in the time of Köprülü Mehmed Pasha it was a town attached to Amasya. Köprülü Mehmed Pasha, the future grand vizier, went to this town and married Ayşe Hanım, and was known as "Köprülü" because of his stay there. His son Fâzıl Ahmed Pasha was born here in 1635-36; his mother Ayşe Hanım was the daughter of Yûsuf Ağa, the town's voivode. Köprülü Mehmed Pasha had a water channel built in Vezirköprü and a fountain in the name of his wife Ayşe Hanım. To say "he was from Köprü" therefore points to a local family of the homeland of this vizier house. The entry does not say whether the Müezzinzâde family was related to the Köprülü family, and no other source on this could be found.
The Abaza Hasan Pasha Question
Köprülü Mehmed Pasha was appointed grand vizier on 26 Zilkade 1066 (15 September 1656). The revolt of the Celâlî Abaza Hasan Pasha broke out in 1658-59; the pashas who sided with Abaza Hasan Pasha, together with some high-ranking officials who had fled Köprülü's harsh measures, were seized in Aleppo and executed in Cemâziyelevvel 1069 (February 1659). After the revolt an inspection of firearms and Celâlîs was carried out in Anatolia, and contemporary historians criticised Köprülü severely for it.
Hüsameddin writes that İsmâil Ağa was dismissed in 1061 because he was a supporter of Abaza Hasan Pasha. Yet Köprülü Mehmed Pasha was not yet grand vizier in 1061 (he became so in 1066), and the revolt of Abaza Hasan Pasha took place in 1069. The sources read for this note give nothing that reconciles these dates; the passage may point to a local dispute from the years Köprülü spent in the town of Köprü, or to some other event. This is a guess and could not be verified.
