In Modern English
It describes and details the historical events that took place in and around Amasya after the union of Ahmed Şâh Bey, emir of Amasya, with the Ottomans, as well as the governors, mutasarrıfs, mirlivas, mütesellims, and notables of Amasya who were charged with administering the province of Amasya in the Ottoman period.
But since important events, changes, and innovations took place in the province of Amasya in this long historical section, the tenth chapter was divided into five periods. Each period was ended with a great event.

The Place of the Section
This entry is a short introductory text opening the tenth chapter of the "First Part" of the book. Hüsameddin says that he divided the Ottoman period into five periods; the next entry begins the "First Period," that is, the period running from 788 to 918. What the "great events" at the end of the five periods are is not stated in this entry.
"Ahmed Şâh Bey" in the text is the emir of Amasya who was called in earlier entries by the names "Fahreddîn Ahmed Bey" and "Devâtdâr Ahmed Pasha"; Hüsameddin refers to the same person by different names. On Amasya's position in the Ottoman period, the entry on Amasya in the TDV İslâm Ansiklopedisi writes that after the city's incorporation into the Ottomans Yıldırım Bayezid left the administration to his son Çelebi Mehmed, that until the mid-16th century Amasya was among the principal centers to which Ottoman princes were sent to gain experience in administration, and that from Çelebi Mehmed onward Murad II, Fatih, and Bayezid II served here as sanjak bey. Hüsameddin's division into "five periods" could not be found in another source; it is the author's own arrangement.
