Family and Setting
The entry describes a typical Amasya scholarly family in which learning and wealth went together. The father, whose being from Antep is clear from his nickname, was himself a scholar and so was his son's first teacher, while the studies were completed with a scholar from Merzifon. Hüsâmeddin states explicitly that the estate left by the father brought him abundance. It also emerges from the order of the account that he came to the professorship after this wealth.
No exact date of death is given; Hüsâmeddin writes only that he died after 1136. No information was found in other sources on the Ayas Ağa Madrasa or on this person.
