The Father Who Did Not Return from the Pilgrimage

In its first sentence the text puts the father forward rather than the son: Abdülkadir Ağa went to the Hijaz and died on the return road at the hands of Bedouin bands. Hüsâmeddin counts this as martyrdom; no other source was found on the details of the incident. The son grows up beside the pasha his father served and does not leave his side until his death, and receives the kapıcıbaşılık together with him.

After becoming mütesellim of Amasya he joined the Iran campaign, returned wounded and died soon after. Since Ahmed Ağa in the previous entry became mütesellim of Amasya in Muharrem 1137, the sequence of the two men's posts agrees with the dates Hüsâmeddin gives: one takes office in 1136 and goes to Iran in 1137, while the other takes over the mütesellimlik in the same month. No information was found in other sources on which vizierate his brother Ali Pasha held.
