The Mehmed Pasha Lodge
The lodge where his father served as sheikh is one of the parts of the Mehmed Pasha Complex near the Yeşilırmak in Amasya. The complex's founder was Hızır Pashazade Mehmed Pasha (d. 900 [1495]), vizier of Bayezid II and tutor of Prince Ahmed. According to the inscription above the mosque's door, the building was completed in Muharrem 891 [January 1486]. The complex comprised a mosque, madrasa, imaret, tomb, tabhane, lodge, fountain and cemetery; only the mosque, its adjoining wing rooms and the tomb have survived. The madrasa and imaret burned down and are lost.
According to Hüsameddin, the lodge south of the mosque, on the road, was built in 890 [1485] for Habib Karamânî, one of the Halveti sheikhs. Whether Pîr Mehmed Çelebi was sheikh of this lodge, or to which order he belonged, is not stated in the sources read; the "Mehmed Pasha Lodge" of the text may be the same building as this lodge, but this is an inference.
The Bâyezîd Pasha Mosque and Its Imaret
The Bâyezîd Pasha Mosque, where Emrullah Efendi was preacher and imaret sheikh, is the mosque in the Bayezid Pasha quarter of Amasya. An article based on archival records lists the Bayezid Pasha Lodge among Amasya's lodges and reports that the revenue of a village belonged to the waqf of the Bayezid Pasha Imaret. That a madrasa, fountain and imaret stood around the mosque, and that in some sources the mosque is said to have been built in 817 [1414], could not be verified. No information on his brother Hayrullah Efendi, his teacher Abdurrahman Efendi of Zile, or his father Pîr Mehmed Çelebi was found in the sources read.
