The Hamzazâde Family

The name "Emîr Hamzazâde" in the title of the entry is given after Hamza Çelebi, from whose line Eşref Ali Çelebi descended. Hüsameddin's records include seyyid families of Amasya who bore the epithet "Emîr"; the Eşref Mehmed Çelebi named in the previous entry is also known as "Küçük Emîr." Whether these two Eşrefs were branches of the same family cannot be understood from the text. That Hamza Çelebi is called "Karahisârî" does not make clear which Karahisar is meant, since more than one settlement in Anatolia bears this name.

The Office of Nakîbü'l-eşrâf

Hüsameddin states that Eşref Ali Çelebi for a time acted as deputy for the nakîbü'l-eşrâf of Amasya. In which years and in whose place this office was exercised is not written. No information was found in other sources on Kadızâde Küçük Hoca Mehmed Ali Efendi, on the places where Eşref Ali Çelebi served as kadı, or on the poems he wrote.
