In Modern English
He was a native of Merzifon. He was the son of Mevlânâ Mahbûb Çelebizâde Mehmed Çelebi, who was for a long time the judge of Merzifon. After completing his studies there he was for a long time a müderris (madrasa professor), mufti and judge. Later he went to the Hejaz, and on his return he had a mosque built in the Sütcü quarter. He endowed his property to this charitable work and died around 897 [1491-92]. He was one of the scholars who served as judges, a man of charity.

Quarter Names in Merzifon
According to the 1520 census of Merzifon, the town had thirty-four quarters. Among them is a quarter named "Kadı Mahbub", which is called Gazimahbup today. The same list also includes a quarter named "Sütçü". In the census of the 1840s the Gazi Mahbub quarter is one of thirteen quarters. It can be supposed that the persons after whom the quarters were named were notables of the region in the 14th-16th centuries. For the mosque Hüsameddin says only "the Sütcü quarter" and does not state in which city it is. That a quarter of this name existed in Merzifon suggests that the mosque may have been there; this is an inference. Likewise, any connection between the name "Kadı Mahbub" and the Mahbûbzâde family is a guess; there is no record in the sources we read that makes this link.
The Mosque and the Waqf
Whether the mosque built by Eyyûb Çelebi still stands today, the records of his waqf and its name could not be found in the sources we read. No further information was found on the Mahbûbzâde family or on Eyyûb Çelebi either.
