The Hüsâmiye Madrasa

The Hüsâmiye Madrasa stood in the Kuba (Küba) quarter of Amasya, on the south side of the mosque. Some sources write that it was built in 1453 by Kubalızâde Şeyh Hüsâmeddîn Hüseyin Halvetî; the founder also served as müderris and headed the Kuba tekke. In some sources this madrasa is also called "Hüseyniye"; however, since Hüsameddin in another entry explains the Hüseyniye as the Büyük Ağa Madrasa, the two names should not be confused. It was damaged in the fires of 1602 and 1688, repaired in 1713 by Kubalı Hâfız Ali Efendi, and fell into neglect after 1826. The quarter's name comes from the Sheikh of Kuba who settled in this area.

The date of the man's death, 882, is about twenty-five years after the founding of the madrasa; when he came to the professorship cannot be told from the text. The name of this müderris, the son of İlyâs, is not given in Hüsameddin's text; no information completing his name and life was found in any other source.
