The Şadgeldi Family
The genealogy in the text goes back to the family of Hacı Şadgeldi, who founded an independent principality in Amasya. It is written that Hacı Şadgeldi was emir of Amasya from 1359 until his death in 1381, and that he came to this post as the second eldest son of his father Hacı Kutlu Şah. This entry shows how one of the later generations of the same family entered Ottoman service: descendants of a family whose forebears had once founded a principality took their place in the army with posts such as sanjak governor in Rumeli.
It is seen that Şâh Melik Pasha, named in the entry as beylerbeyi of Rumeli, is referred to as "Burakzâde" in records based on Hüsameddin's book. The Battle of Varna is known as one of the great clashes fought in the time of Murad II; Hüsameddin gives no date. No source complementing the information given in this entry on the son Yahyâ Bey and the daughter (İldi Hatun) was found in my searches. The information that İldi Hatun was a wife of Bayezid II therefore also rests solely on Hüsameddin.
