He was the son of Yularkısdı Sinan Pashazâde İskender Bey. Among the holders of zeamet (large military fiefs) he was known as "Yularkısdı's son," and he was a native of Amasya. Rising from the post of alaybeyi (commander of the cavalry regiments) of Amasya, he became sanjak bey of Amasya in Muharram of the year 968 [1560–61].
In 969 [1561–62], one of the leading scholars of Amasya, Recebzâde Hacı Bayram Efendi, died. His sons Şa'bân and Mahmûd Efendi were called "Hacı Bayrâmzâde." In this year Muzaffer Pasha was pardoned and released. He later became beylerbeyi of Baghdad.
On the first night of Shaban of the year 970 [1562–63], the famous preacher of the Sultâniyye, Muhyiddîn Efendizâde Alî Çelebi, died. In his place a learned man known as "Müfessir Ahmed Efendi" became preacher of the Sultâniyye. In Shawwal, Mehmed Çelebi was appointed to the beylik of Amasya.

The Yularkısdı Family
Hüsameddin treats Ahmed Bey's father, Sinan Pashazâde İskender Bey, separately elsewhere in the book. According to the record there, İskender Bey was born in Amasya, in Çukurbahçe. His father, Yularkısdı Sinan Pasha, was vizier of Prince Sultan Ahmed and had a bathhouse built in Amasya, and his son was also called "Yularkısdıoğlu." İskender Bey married Gevher Hân Sultan, daughter of Prince Ahmed, in 916 [1510–11]; in 945 [1538–39] he left Amasya as sanjak bey of Bayezid (the sanjak); in 967 [1559–60], because he showed loyalty to Selim II in the affair of Prince Bayezid, he became bey of Ankara and died a year later. Hüsameddin lists his sons as Ahmed and Mehmed Beys.
In a footnote to the 73rd entry of this volume, it is written that "Yularkısdızâde Ahmed Pasha" became beylerbeyi of Sivas in 976. It is likely that this person is the same as the Ahmed Bey mentioned here, but Hüsameddin does not say so explicitly.
The Scholars of Amasya in the Same Years
Besides the changes of sanjak bey, the text also gives names from the madrasa and preaching circles. No reliable additional source was found for the Hacı Bayrâmzâdes, Muhyiddîn Efendizâde Alî Çelebi and Muzaffer Pasha. That Müfessir Ahmed Efendi died in 985 [1577–78] and was succeeded by his student Lalazâde Kemâleddîn Mehmed Efendi is written in a later entry of the same volume. According to this record, Ahmed Efendi served as preacher in Amasya until about fifteen years after the appointment here. The "Mehmed Çelebi" in the text appears in the next entry under the name "Mehmed Bey"; they are understood to be the same person.
