Karayazıcı and Sokulluzade Hasan Pasha
Karayazıcı was the first great leader of the Celali revolts in Anatolia. He rose in the years when the Ottoman-Austrian wars had upset order in Anatolia, took the fortress of Urfa in November 1599, and went so far as to issue decrees in his own name. Sokulluzade Hasan Pasha, governor of Baghdad, defeated him on 12 August 1601 at a place called Sepetli near Elbistan; Karayazıcı withdrew wounded to the Canik mountains, and news of his death reached Istanbul in early 1602. His brother Deli Hasan took his place. Sokulluzade Hasan Pasha himself was besieged by the Celalis in Tokat and killed; the year of his death is given as 1602 in some sources and 1604 in others.
This is the event Hüsameddin calls "the martyrdom of his pasha". Since Karayazıcı himself died in 1602, Hüsameddin's record of "war against the Karayazıcı bandits in 1013" may point to a clash with his remnants, that is, Deli Hasan and his men. This is an inference and could not be verified by a document. The relation between Hasan Pasha's death and the date 1013 [1604-05] is therefore not certain.
Kuyucu Murad Pasha and Köprü
Kuyucu Murad Pasha was made grand vizier on 11 December 1606 and charged with suppressing the Celali revolts that had flared up in Anatolia. The date 1017 [1608-09] that Hüsameddin gives falls in this grand vizierate. Köprü, called the home town of Bayram Pasha, was a town attached to Amasya and today bears the name Vezirköprü. No information was found in the sources that were read about Hacı Bayram Pasha's family, his son Hasan Bey, or his posts. The text also does not say which campaign Hüsameddin means by the "Iraq war".
The Other Bayram Pashas
In the next entry (509) Hüsameddin writes that there were two more Bayram Pashas contemporary with the grand vizier Bayram Pasha. Of these, the Bayram Pasha who came from the post of bostancıbaşı also died in 1036. Whether the man in this entry is the same as he is unclear, since Hüsameddin writes the two records separately; it could not be verified. Hüsameddin also notes that in the Sicill-i Osmânî the biographies of three Bayram Pashas have been confused with one another.
