In Modern English
He was a native of Amasya. He was the son of Lütfullah Çelebi, one of the famous physicians and apothecaries of Amasya; Lütfullah Çelebi was the son of Ali Çelebi; and he in turn was the son of the physician Hacı İlyâs Çelebi. He was the nephew of the famous physician Mevlânâ Şeref Çelebi son of Ali Çelebi. In Amasya he gained wealth and standing through medicine and pharmacy.
Because for this reason he was among the associates of Prince Sultan Ahmed, governor of Amasya, he was prosecuted at the accession of Sultan Selim Han. After an investigation lasting a year, imprisonment and pressure, he was freed. He again took up his old craft and trade.
In 923 [1517], when Prince Sultan Murâd, son of Prince Sultan Ahmed, came from Iran to Amasya, it was rumored that he had stayed and hidden in his house; this rumor reached the ear of Sultan Selim, and he was again subjected to pressure.
In 924 [1518], to testify that the person captured and beheaded near Karahisâr-ı Şarkî was Prince Murâd, he was taken as far as Üsküdar. There, together with another man of Amasya, he testified that the head belonged to Prince Murâd Bey, saved himself and returned. He died in Amasya around 930 [1523-24].

The Sabuncuoğlu Family
"Mevlânâ Şeref Çelebi son of Ali Çelebi" in the text is Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddîn (1385-1468), the famous physician and surgeon of Amasya. His father's name was Ali Çelebi and his grandfather's name Hacı İlyâs Çelebi; it is written that Hacı İlyâs Çelebi was chief physician to Çelebi Sultan Mehmed. Şerefeddîn practiced medicine for fourteen years at the Amasya Dârüşşifâ and presented to Mehmed the Conqueror the Cerrâhiyyetü'l-İlhâniyye, the first surgical book written in Turkish. The Sabuncuoğlu quarter in Amasya keeps alive his family's name. The old hospital building, built in 1308-1309 in the time of the Ilkhanids, has been used since 2011 as the Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Museum of the History of Medicine and Surgery. İbrâhim Çelebi of the entry is among the descendants of this family; that is, the chain of descent from Hacı İlyâs Çelebi to Lütfullah and from him to İbrâhim shows a point three generations after this famous dynasty of physicians.
The Account of Prince Murad
The entry rests on two different events. The first is the prosecution of those close to Ahmed after Selim's accession. The second is the rumor that Ahmed's son Prince Murad came from Iran to Amasya and hid in İbrâhim Çelebi's house. According to other sources, Prince Murad was born in Amasya in 1495, took refuge in Iran when his father was defeated, and died of natural causes in 1519 in Kashan or Isfahan. Hüsameddin's account that in 924 (1518) it was testified that the person captured and beheaded at Karahisâr-ı Şarkî was Murad does not fit this information; either someone other than Murad was presented as Murad, or there is a disagreement among the sources. Since this point could not be verified by another source, it is not presented as certain information.
