A Müderris and Kadı in Havza
Havza is today a district of Samsun province; in the nineteenth-century salnames it appears as a nahiye, and later as a kaza, attached to the Sanjak of Amasya in the Sivas province. The sequence Hüsameddin describes is as follows: ders-i âm, chief clerkship of the court, professorship in Havza, and finally the kadıship of Havza.
No detail about Havza concerning the Fîrûz Ağa Madrasa was found in the readable sources; the Firuz Ağa Mosque in Istanbul was built in 1491 by Firuz Ağa, treasurer of Bayezid II, and whether it belonged to the same person as the madrasa in Havza could not be verified. No source other than Hüsameddin was found for the Eğraklızâde family and the nickname "Gözübüyük Müderris" either.
